The National Podcast and Magazine Company, was founded by Arthur Perlman (b.1942) in 1972. Perlman also created the first "download store" in 1972. One review of the IPA Archive’s Weinberg, Ed, The History of the Magazine in the United States identifies the Perlin company as being established by the journal. Perlin’s IPA Archive provides a wealth of information about the history of the magazine, magazines, and magazines-pages, and is a gateway for Internet Magazine.
Your generation of rare magazines of the past includes a complete run of June, July, August, September (1844-1852) and copies of the Philadelphia Home Journal (1840-1843) which includes major national issues with news about the 1861 presidential election (which Ernie Fogelson recalled included a very negative view of the Davis administration). The July/August/September issue of Tait’s Magazine (1860-1903) has many articles written by Lewis Carroll (including On the Touch of a Trigger), Robert Browning (including Recruiting Sermon), and Wilkie Collins (including The Lighthouse and Man and Wife). There are many Francis Bacon articles in the August issue (1904) of the Literature including Words, Masses, and Signs. Two issues of Punch magazine on June 26-30, 1848 and June 26-30, 1949, contain a large amount of potentially libelous comment by Dickens.
The Fractured Lantern Project timeline consists of original newspaper and magazine articles written primarily by Lewis Carroll and widely collected in The Annotated Alice and Alice's Annotated Adventures in Wonderland. They were first published in The Strand Magazine in December, 1865 and as a hardback book in October, 1866. Originally, Carroll was the illustrator and co-author, but by Volume 2, he had completed the majority of the political/historical sections of the book. Carroll died on March 21, 1898. 7211a4ac4a
